The Crowd Gets Closer

For the last eight years, IBM and the United States Golf Association have transformed to bring the excitement of the U.S. Open Championship to golf fans wherever and whenever they want. Now, fans can get closer to the action than ever before, thanks to several new website features and enhancements.

Powered by IBM's cloud computing and analytics technologies, now includes a full suite of digital products, including a iPad app that will deliver a data rich experience along with live video to keep fans up-to-date throughout the tournament. Fans will also get an enhanced video experience thanks to a video console sponsored by American Express. This will give fans an interactive experience during the live event coverage of featured groups, featured holes and U.S. Open 360°.

There are many more ways for fans to participate in the social conversation around the event, as the design has integrated many social media platforms, like aggregated tweets from @usopengolf and @USGA, as well as tweets from select players and broadcasters.

Through this partnership, IBM brings the same technology expertise and innovation it provides to businesses all over the world to the USGA and golf's national championship.
